Having grown up only a few miles away from the office, Dr. Anna and Dr. Sia are so excited to be serving their community. Smile Buds is the first pediatric dentistry and orthodontics office in Glassell Park! They wanted to give the community the top-tier, trustworthy dental home they deserve.

At Smile Buds, it is our mission and our goal to ensure all feel welcome at our practice. Smile Buds is not just a name. Dr. Anna and Dr. Sia want you to feel like more than patients, we want you to feel like part of our team!

Get to Know Dr. Anna Shahinian
Dr. Anna Shahinian was born and raised in Glendale, CA where she would one day meet her business partner, Dr. Siyouneh Novshadian on their high school basketball team. Dr. Anna pursued her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, San Diego, and decided to apply to dental school with the dream of one day opening a dental practice near her hometown of Glendale.

After graduating from UCSD, Dr. Anna went on to attend dental school at UCLA where she also completed her Pediatric Residency. Now, Dr. Anna is beyond thrilled to be running a modern, compassionate pediatric dental and orthodontic practice with her best friend and business partner. Dr. Anna loves the teaching aspect of pediatric dentistry. She feels rewarded that she gets to watch her young patients grow and learn at every visit.

Outside of the office, Dr. Anna enjoys curling up with a good book, going to the spa, watching and playing basketball, and spending time with her niece and nephew.

Taking your child to the dentist or orthodontist for the first time is an exciting experience! However, we know that it can also feel a little overwhelming. That is why we are here to help ease your mind by walking you through what you can expect when you come to see us for the first time.
​
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a friendly member of our team who will give you and your little one a tour of our office. Next, you’ll get to say hello to the doctors and other members of the team. But don’t worry, we know it can sometimes take a while for kids to warm up to new people. Our team is patient, gentle, and understanding, no matter what!
